Anila joined Awaz FM in 2007. She presents Itwaar Khushghawar from 1.00pm to 3.00pm every Sunday.

It's an information based programme around health and social issues interspersed with music, gup shup and listeners’ comments.

My personal interests include:

the mundane ones first.... reading, movies,fashion and farming in the virtual world :),Music:Music is my world. I listen to most types of music: arabesque,folk, pop, ghazals, qawwalis, hispanic, country music.

the more serious ones......I have deep interest in the issues facing the minority communities, current affairs and women's issues. I enjoy intellectually stimulating conversations. I have deep interest in learning languages. I

have some knowledge of the French and Turkish languages.

Hi Anila

I like your show ...the topics are interesting and relevant to our community.I listened to your show last week about pirs,superstition and the cultic followers.Awaz fm should present more debate and discussion programmes.I read this somewhere about the pirs and I totally agree with it .About such spiritual frauds who pillage and plunder the Imaan of unwary and innocent people, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “There will dawn an age when (some) men will don long woollen (religious) garments. Their tongues will be sweeter than sugar, but their hearts will be the hearts of wolves.”

Thanks Fatima. I believe in sharing information and little knowledge that I have and humour, in my view, makes life interesting and worthwhile.It helps us put life's imperfections into perspective.What say you :)

I am a regular listener of your show.The topics you bring are interesting and informative.Saath hi saath itni achi Urdu sununay ko milti hai, maza aa jata hai.Yahan tu kaan taras jatay hain mazaydaar urdu sunnay ke liye :)

Yesterday's topic was fab.I think it's a positive thing for people coming to the UK to have good command of the English language.

Communication barrier stops people from integrating and becoming useful members of the society.

Next Sunday if possible can you please play Sun re moray pyaray saajna by Abbass Ali Khan.I love this song...nice lyrics ,beautiful melody.Thanks.

Thanks Faiza. "mazaydar urdu", my friends say I am a good cook ,they must tell the truth as you find my urdu mazaydar.lol.

By the way ,the song you have requested is one of my favourites.I'll definitely play it but not this Sunday as Awaz fm will be broadcasting live from the Glasgow mela on Sunday.Next week then,it's a promise.
