Awaz FM is Glasgow’s Asian Radio Station and serves the people of Glasgow, broadcasting in English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Paharhi and Swahili. Awaz FM delivers entertainment, news local, national and community informationas well as cultural and faith programming.
“Awaz” translates as “Voice” in Urdu and Hindi languages.
Awaz FM is a Community Radio Station setup and apart from delivering community programming we also train individuals in Basic Radio Broadcasting Skills.
Awaz FM works with many organisations including Glasgow City Council, Greater Glasgow Health Board, Community Planning Partnership, Police Scotland, Scottish Government, CEMVO, and West of Scotland Racial Equality Council in delivering their services to the Asian Community.
Awaz FM also enables Community organisations and individuals to use the station as a platform to highlight their work and services.

Awaz FM awarded 1 year Pilot Licence
April 29th 2002
Start broadcasting Live to Glasgow
Awarded a fulltime 5 year licence from Ofcom
Moved to Craig House
Launch the Awaz FM app
Awaz FM is committed to giving something back to Glasgow and regularly helps raise money for local charities. In the past we have raised money for Yorkhill Hospital, MacMillan Cancer, Apna Service Barnados to name a few.
Some of the team have climbed Kilimanjaro and trekked Great Wall of China.
